Histology
The process that went into producing these images was staining tissue samples and then embedding the samples in wax. Then, using a microtome, I sliced very thin slivers of the wax block. Continuous shaving of the block forms sheets of segments from the wax block containing cross-sections of the sample. Finally, using a microscope, I imaged the cross-sections. The images in this gallery are all of tissue samples from mushrooms collected on San Juan Island, WA.
